There is not one picture anywhere on the MTG website that shows the actual missing lens that once stood in the lighthouse. Nobody ever had the foresight to make a photo of that particular art effect or even the interior of the Bluff Hill Lighthouse.

I am looking for people who worked in the fishing and marine industry that might remember something about the old Napier Lighthouse, its demolition and also more pictures/stories and any information that could possibly lead to the recovery of the Napier Lantern from 1874.

I am also asking older citizens of Napier to try to remember anyone that may know anything about this old Napier lighthouse. Maybe someone that lived close to the lighthouse in 1948 or had parents that worked at the port or the prison, council or even the marine department at the time. Any information which may led to the whereabouts of this 150 year old Fresnel Light would be very appreciated.
